About the Team Jack Foundation
The Team Jack Foundation, a Nebraska-based nonprofit organization, was founded in January 2013, by Andy and Brianna Hoffman. The mission of the Foundation is to raise money to fund impactful childhood brain cancer research and work to raise national awareness for the disease.
The Hoffman’s son, Jack, was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2011, when he was just five years old. After learning about the toxic, archaic treatments that Jack would need to take to combat his tumor, they set off on a path to make a difference for kids diagnosed with brain cancer in the future. To date, Team Jack has raised more than $15 million and has committed over $12.7 million to twenty research projects nationally and in Germany and Australia.
Jack and his family had the opportunity to meet Nebraska Huskers’ running back, Rex Burkhead just prior to Jack’s second tumor resection tumor. They became fast friends and Rex has dedicated himself to helping the Team Jack Foundation. Rex serves on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, raised funds and awareness using his platform as an NFL player, and is hosting this golf event to continue making a difference in the fight against childhood brain cancer.
Jack became a symbol of hope for families facing this devastating disease, but after a courageous 14-year battle, passed away from brain cancer in January 2025. We remain committed to honoring Jack’s legacy by funding critical research nationally and working tirelessly toward better treatments and a cure for childhood brain cancer.
