YARDS AFTER CONTACT is the inspiring story of Jack Hoffman through the eyes of his father, author Andy Hoffman. Jack was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at age five and this story chronicles Jack’s fight to survive his tumor, not only with treatment and surgery, but through a friendship with the University of Nebraska Cornhusker football team. Jack stole the hearts of people across the country with “The Run,” a touchdown during the Huskers’ spring game. Jack’s run earned an ESPY for “Best Sports Moment’ and brought much needed awareness to childhood brain cancer funding and research, and the Hoffmans continue raising money and awareness for that cause through the Team Jack Foundation.

“Andy Hoffman is dedicated to helping raise money to help kids battling cancer. He has lived the pain of a dad watching his son have to fight that dreaded disease, and through the efforts of the Team Jack Foundation-including the proceeds from sales of this book-he continues to work so that more parents don’t have to. Jack captivated America with such an inspirational moment; “The Run,” from when he ran out on the field with the Nebraska football team, all the way to the endzone! Thanks, Andy, for telling this story and reminding us all of that great day, and for continuing to raise awareness and dollars to help others and defeat pediatric brain cancer. Jack stole the show at my gala when we paid tribute to him. My man Jack is AWESOME, Baby-with a capital A!”
