Olivia Swedberg was a sweet three-year-old girl from North Platte, Nebraska when she was diagnosed with a deadly brain tumor, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). Rather than submit their little girl to the terrible, toxic treatments just to have her live a little bit longer, Olivia’s family chose to take her home and enjoy every second they could with her. Olivia lived and loved life for about two months before passing away from the effects of her brain tumor. Not only was Olivia a hero because of her bravery and courage, but she became an organ donor and positively impacted the lives of others. Olivia’s liver, kidneys, heart intestines, and cornea were given to four other people and were truly life-saving. To read the full story about Olivia’s heroism, click here.
