Employees of Community Medical Center in Falls City, Nebraska, raised funds for Team Jack by holding an extra “jeans day” during the first quarter of 2020. The hospital’s Healing Hearts Committee, which works on behalf of the administration, was the organizer of this fundraiser. While staff participation in the campaign was voluntary, they had donations from every department in the hospital totaling $600 for research! There was participation from Pharmacy, Outpatient Specialty Clinic, Utilization Review, Med-Surg(Nursing), Patient Financial Services (Admissions, Accounting, Business Office, and HIM), Family Medicine Clinic, Human Resources, Materials Management (Purchasing), Emergency Department, Imaging (Radiology) and Administration.
Betsy Coolidge, an Executive Assistant at CMC, has a grandson, Ezra Sallman, who is a brain cancer survivor. Ezra and his family have been involved with the Team Jack Foundation since his diagnosis, so the decision to support Team Jack with the Jeans Day fundraiser was a good fit.
