Three-months of pediatric neuro-oncology education at Children’s Hospital Colorado | Project Complete
$10,000
To complete the team of physicians necessary to treat kids with brain tumors, a pediatric neuro-oncologist is critical to ensure access to advanced care and clinical trials. Due to the high demand for pediatric neuro-oncologists and their limited numbers, it has been difficult to recruit one to Nebraska. Despite this challenge, UNMC has successfully filled this gap with the help of Team Jack to offer extensive training in Denver for Dr. Chi Raulji Dr. Raulji is a clinician with previous experience in the bench research and currently contributing to clinical research through
participation in Children’s Oncology Group and other clinical trials.

His vision is to provide best comprehensive care to children with brain tumors in Omaha. One of the ways to achieve that is make more clinical trials available to the patients, so that they don’t need to go to further away from home for their care. We have excellent bench research going on at University of Nebraska Medical Center. One of my goal will be to bring questions and insights from the clinical side to the researchers in the lab which will help answer relevant questions. I can help translate the discoveries in the laboratory to clinical trials which will make more treatment options available for children with brain tumors.

Dr. Raulji completed his training in March 2023. Efforts by the Department of Neurosurgery are ongoing to recruit another neurosurgeon.
