The 8th Annual Team Jack Radiothon Presented by The Home Agency brought in a record breaking amount of money for the Team Jack Foundation.  This year, the event raised approximately $138,000 for Team Jack and their mission to fund childhood brain cancer research.

“We are so grateful for the support of so many who come together for this event.  Team Jack is a privately funded organization, so we rely on our supporters to help us raise funds to help children with brain cancer.  Our partners such as The Home Agency and radio stations across Nebraska not only helped us raise significant funds for our cause, but awareness state-wide,”  Kylie Dockter.

In addition to the normal format of the radiothon, this year, the Foundation added a $25,000 lottery give-away which was sponsored by The Home Agency and the Jim & Sharri Baldonado family. While only 100 raffle tickets were available for $1,000 each, there were 56 tickets sold at the time of the drawing.

This special raffle was announced on the day of the 8th Annual Team Jack Foundation Radiothon presented by The Home Agency. The radiothon itself is the foundation’s second largest event held annually and since it began has now raised over $700,000 for childhood brain cancer research. The idea of the $25,000 raffle came from The Home Agency owner, Jim Baldonado. He offered to donate the prize money to help Team Jack leverage his funds into more for research.

“My thought with the lottery was that if I sponsored a $25,000 giveaway, the Foundation would be able to leverage those dollars to double the impact, which they did.  This has been the seventh year in a row that we have sponsored the event so we also wanted to try something different to raise more funds.  Nebraska has shown year after year with this event their compassion for this cause and even with a pandemic this year during the event, that generosity shined through,” Jim Baldonado.

After eight weeks of selling the tickets, the drawing was set for November 6. The Team Jack Foundation did the drawing live on Facebook. The lucky winner of the $25,000 prize was Kohle Construction from Stuart, Nebraska. Look for this fundraiser to be held again in 2021.  For more information on how to get involved with the radiothon, visit www.teamjackfoundation.org.
